Here’s a Facebook Post That Got Over 1 Million Comments

This might be the post that makes you feel bad about getting twelve of your friends to comment on your status, so if you have a sensitive disposition, you might want to skip ahead to another article. But definitely don’t leave our site. That would be horrible.

Ok. For those who have stuck with us, you can feel better, as the post that did get a million comments is a goddamn Frontierville post. For those unfamiliar, Frontierville is one of those Farmville-type posts. For those who don’t know what Farmville is, it is a social media game that involves trading goats for water and chickens for hay or somesuch thing. Don’t worry about it. It’s not important.

Anyway, on October 31st, 2011, a post was, er, posted, with the goal of reaching as money comments as the Frontierville Fan Group page could possibly muster. Only 100 or so different people commented, and those that did posted an average of over 9,500 times apiece. Needless to say, this wasn’t generated by a hilarious joke, powerful opinion, and certainly not sheer popularity. No sir. This was done by brute force and willpower.

Fastforward three months exactly and it’s official. This post, this group, this whatever has been immortalized in the Guinness Book of World Records with over a million posts. Sure, it’s not landing on the moon, but it’s one mention in the Guinness Book than most people have.

Now aren’t you glad you didn’t turn away after the intro?
