Making its international debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival this year, the new Riva 82′ Diva marks the start of a “new chapter” for the renowned Italian shipyard. The entry model to Riva’s tri-deck flybridge series, the first 25.3-metre model in the series, was launched this summer to much acclaim. Featuring a sleek design by Mauro Micheli and Sergio Beretta of Officina Italiana Design, in collaboration with the Ferretti Group Engineering Department and Strategic Product Committee led by Piero Ferrari, the Riva 82′ Diva showcases a revolutionary approach to space utilisation. The design team, led by Micheli and Beretta, reimagined the use of space, aiming to maximise outdoor areas while maintaining well-balanced and thoughtfully designed interiors. This innovative approach is evident throughout the yacht’s interiors and exteriors, optimising both comfort and functionality.
The Riva 82’ Diva Design
The Riva 82′ Diva showcases several design transformations from the shipyard, such as incorporating elevated gunwales crafted from painted composite materials, which replace the conventional steel handrails. However, one of the most striking features of the yacht is her impressive 40 square-metre flybridge, one of the largest in her class. Protected by a carbon-fibre hard top with glass panels, this area includes a central lounge with a dinette and bar, an aft lounge area, and a forward sunbathing space. Central to her design, the reimagined flybridge underlines the design’s team brief to offer a yacht with luxurious outdoor living experiences.
Her expansive beach club further exemplifies Riva’s, the Officina Italiana Design’s, and the Ferretti Group’s ingenuity. Featuring large, drop-down bulwarks that extend the yacht’s beam from 6m to 9m, once opened, it creates lateral terraces that enhance the sense of openness and connection with the sea. Increasing the available space, the drop-down bulwarks help transform the yacht into an oasis of relaxation and entertainment. The garage, accommodating a 3.45m jet tender and a sea scooter, adds to her versatility, ensuring endless possibilities for sea adventures.
The Riva 82’ Diva amenities
Another highlight is the main deck of the Riva 82′ Diva yacht, with a cockpit area spanning 35 square metres. Its sea-view sofas offer a serene space for relaxation, seamlessly integrating the luxurious interiors with the freedom of the outdoors. The interior continues this theme of elegance and sophistication, with a split-level configuration in the main salon that connects the lounge area with the dining area. Her interiors feature rich materials such as Italian walnut, ebony leather, and soft grey furnishings throughout, which together contribute to her luxurious ambience. Accommodation aboard is equally impressive, with a stunning master suite amidship and three ensuite guest cabins on the lower deck, ensuring a comfortable and private experience for all on board. The crew quarters, including two cabins, are designed to provide optimal service while maintaining guest privacy.
Powered by twin MAN V12 engines, the Riva 82′ Diva has a top speed of 29 to 31 knots, depending on her engine configuration, with cruising speeds of 26 to 27 knots. The ideal flybridge for yacht enthusiasts who seek a blend of performance, comfort, and groundbreaking design, the Riva 82′ Diva is an unparalleled choice.
