As warmer weather starts to occupy the horizon, it’s time to crack the lid on your humidor and restock it before the official season for golfing and grilling out gets underway. A lot of guys who only smoke cigars on occasion appreciate a recommendation they can indulge in at the drop of a hat and that’s guaranteed to impress their pals. Arturo Fuente Hemingway is an easy choice.

Rooted in an Unrivalled Legacy

Arturo Fuente is the leading maker of premium cigars in the Dominican Republic and one of the most prominent brands in the world. Today, the company is led by legendary cigar-maker Carlito Fuente Jr., who carries on traditions set in place by his late father, Carlos Fuente Sr., and his grandfather, Arturo Fuente. The Fuente family’s iconic portfolio is home to many of the most sought-after cigars in the world, including ultra-rare gems like Fuente Fuente Opus X and Arturo Fuente Anejo.

Arturo Fuente Hemingway is drawn from an extensively aged recipe of premium Dominican binder and filler tobaccos and a glistening and toothy Cameroon wrapper leaf.

The Debut of a Classic

Arturo Fuente Hemingway first debuted back in 1983. The cigar is named for the celebrated cigar-loving author of For Whom the Bell Tolls and a host of American literary classics, Ernest Hemingway. The name for each size in the Arturo Fuente Hemingway series bears a reference to literature, such as Short Story, Best Seller, Classic, Signature, Masterpiece, and Between the Lines. Short Story, with its petite dimensions of 4 inches and 49mm ring gauge, is among the most popular cigars ever made. What promptly intrigues many about Fuente Hemingway is its shape. Every size in the line is handmade in an artful Figurado shape – a bulbous silhouette that tapers toward the cigar’s head and is fattest at the foot which is finished off with a nipple for easy lighting. It is a visually striking and complicated shape to roll and the expertise of senior cigar rollers is required to execute it correctly.

Legendary Taste

Arturo Fuente Hemingway is drawn from an extensively aged recipe of premium Dominican binder and filler tobaccos and a glistening and toothy Cameroon wrapper leaf. A medium-bodied profile of cedar, cinnamon, almonds, coffee beans, and soft Dominican spices emerges with the unmistakable signature of Carlito Fuente. The cigar’s alluring, woody aroma accompanies a silky finish. AF Hemingway seamlessly pleases a wide variety of cigar lovers thanks to its approachable and exquisitely refined taste. The blend easily pairs with a versatile array of spirits, including bourbon, rum, cognac, and craft beer.

Cigar Aficionado awarded the cigar an outstanding 94-point score for the Work of Art and honored it with a ranking in their Top 10 Cigars of the Year.
