YouTube Carpet Bombed with Porn Videos

Somehow we missed this last week, but May 20th was declared "Porn Day" by the folks at 4chan and eBaum's World who bombarded YouTube with explicit porn videos on that day. The group of users uploaded the adult content en masse to overwhelm the ability of YouTube to detect and delete the videos.

For awhile it was quite easy to find porn on YouTube, but it appears the site now has the situation under control. The users submitted clips that had no indication that there was explicit content, making it easy for an average user to stumble upon some X-rated action.

As YouTube started to catch on to the operation, the pranksters changed tactics and started uploading what, on first glance, appeared to be legitimate content like a newscast or an interview, but which had porn video spliced in after 20-30 seconds.

So it appears that, at least for a day, Operation Porn Day was indeed successful in its mission. Well done soldiers.
