Maybe "sad" isn't the right word, but it's hard not to feel bad for the guy, chasing a cat up a tree, only to discover upon reaching the top that cats, possibly due to their soullessness, are able to descend from treetops much better than dogs are. MUCH BETTER. Are Russian dogs able to climb trees? Can American dogs? If the answer to the former is "yes" and the latter "no," then I'm opting for the Russian model. They also can apparently bark like car alarms, too. 

So Fido is stuck atop this tree, presumably scared shitless, left with nothing to do but bark. Poor guy. Still, a resounding "hurrah" for the dog for going where no dog has ever gone before - to the top of a tree. May he one day get that wily cat, and crush it with his teeth.
