Since when did jet packs become a real thing that you could actually fly around on? Did I miss that memo? Anyway, apparently real-live jet packs do exist and now they race cars around a track to see who wins. Eric Scott, a 46-year-old Go Fast! Jet Pack pilot from Denver, became the first jet-propelled man to cross the 1,053ft-wide Royal Gorge Canyon in Colorado last year. This past week he also became the fastest dude on a jet pack when he was clocked going 68 mph at Knockhill Racing Circuit in Scotland.
In this video, jet pack Eric races a Ford Focus. It’s a little hard to tell from the video, but he wins. Pretty amazing, although beating a Ford Focus just doesn’t sound all that impressive. How about racing the awe-inspiring Mantide next time?
