The A.V. Club not-so recently put together their annual compendium of truly shitty band names for all of us to marvel upon and deride. It’s funny how many of these bands sound like fictional bands that should have been in “Wayne’s World” or fictional bands that some teenagers were going to see in some 1980’s precursor to “Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist”.
The only band I recognized on that list was “We Were Promised Jetpacks” who are Scottish, indie, and pretty awesome live. I am comfortable presuming that the balance of these acts are as god-awful as their names would suggest.
Author’s note: I know this list is about six months old, but a) you haven’t seen it before; b) it’s not time-sensitive; and c) the dog days of summer really take it out of me creatively, so cut me some slack.
