If you’re looking for ultra-luxury, you need go no further than Mardan Palace, Europe’s most expensive hotel where just ordering a glass of Champagne will set you back a whopping $40. The $1 billion resort recently opened in Antalya, Turkey to a gathering of the world’s rich and famous including, of course, Paris Hilton.

Built by Russian billionaire Telman Ismailov, Mardan Palace has spared no expense in its 560 rooms. Suites cost more than $18,000 per night. The hotel is plastered with half a million crystals and 23,000 meters of Italian marble.
The private beach was created by importing 9,000 tons of sand from Egypt. There are 11 Italian restaurants at the resort, including one waterside bistro that features over $2 million of Hermes crockery.

Have you longed to go swimming with the fishies? At Mardan Palace an aquarium is located inside the pool where you can covert with 2,400 fish.
So let’s raise a glass of $40 Champagne and toast to the super-rich who still find ways of blowing astronomical sums of money even in the midst of a worldwide recession.
