Ready to take your footwear to the edge? Then check out New York designer Alejandro Ingelmo’s outrageous, pricey sneakers – you will either love or hate them.
Last year’s design featured metallic high tops in eye-popping colors like bronze, pink and purple:

For Spring/Summer 2009, Ingelmo presents the Rivington Low which continues the use of metallic materials, but in interesting woven patterns:

Ingelmo?s footwear expertise stems from his great grandfather, a shoe cobbler in Salamanca, Spain. In 1918, Ingelmo’s family created Ingelmo Shoes, which has flourished into a globally distributed brand. After graduating from Parsons School of Design, Alejandro decided to create his own take of the Ingelmo Shoes brand.
Ingelmo’s designs have been worn by Madonna during her last concert tour and in her H&M ads, so clearly people are starting to notice this up-and-coming designer.
You can see more of Ingelmo’s creations at his website. You can buy his newest shoes online at Brown’s. Oh, and did we mention his sneakers go for around $1,000? Yes, the cutting edge does not come cheap.

Lol those shoes are not really manly. In fact I think they are quite ugly. But man, how those high topes remind me of junior high and how cool it was to have air jordans, or reebok’s the pump, or the puma discs… ah memories…
