Those wild and crazy librarians. The ladies of the Texas Library Association are showing off their tattoos in a new calendar to help raise money. “The Tattooed Ladies of the TLA” is an 18 month calendar that showcases the charms and often concealed art of 21 Texas librarians.

The calendar is part of a fund-raiser for the Texas Library Disaster Fund which aids Gulf Coast libraries impacted by hurricane Katrina and other natural disasters.

So now that even librarians are inked up does that mean tattoos are finally not hip any longer?

Nice! I am glad someone is getting creative for their funding. I give it about three days before someone complains about it.

The sad part is the last time I was at a public library the librarians were busy helping people use the free internet access and not dealing with books, the dewy decimal system, nor checking out paper backs. Tsk.
