Cool App Alert: Create A Temporary Phone Number From Your Cell Phone

Most of the time I'm making a phone call, I don't want people to know who is calling. Mostly because I'm committing crimes or just making obscene phone calls. Well, there's an app for that.

The iPhone app "Burner" allows you to create a fake phone number for your phone that affords the user some anonymity. I can't imagine any legitimate and well-intentioned use for this app, but that's just fine with me. I guess if you're buying something on Craigslist and don't want to give your number, that's one thing, but mostly, I just see it being useful for characters from 'The Wire' and serial killers who are calling police to taunt them.

Needless to say, I'm downloading it.
