Is it true? Has Nintendo – the console known for innocent cartoon-like games like Super Mario, and Zelda – released a strip poker game!? Yes, it may sound like bizzaro world, but with “Sexy Poker: Top Models”, Nintendo is trying to reach out to a new, more mature audience (to enter the website you even need to fill in your date of birth).
Here’s a video of the game in action:
Old-timers like me, who were into gaming in the 80s, remember games like Samatha Fox Strip Poker and how we stood on the other side of the room squinting to see the image on the TV in the distance. Now that was quality entertainment.
But times change and graphics get better. If you like poker where your opponents bet with clothes rather than money or chips, “Sexy Poker: Top Models”, produced by Gameloft, is right up your alley. Of course, you’re playing against anime characters, not real chicks. But you still have to be good at poker – your favorite anime friend won’t undress unless you outplay them. So brush up on those poker strategy books and whip out your Wii (console, that is).

I think this appeals to a very small majority of people. Why would you want to watch this? I prefer real poker and real women!

Seems a little bizarre and out-of-date. Firstly I’d expect seriously better graphics than that. Sounds like a case of not committing to a serious poker game or a proper strip poker game. The result isn’t likely to appeal much to either camp.
Very unexpected for Nintendo though!
