Those Philadelphia fans sure do love their Phillies. Now that the long-beleaguered Phils are back in the World Series for the second straight year, local fans are getting desperate for tickets. And I mean really, really desperate.
Susan Finkelstein, a 43-year-old woman from suburban Philadelphia, was recently arrested on prostitution charges for offering to have sex for tickets to the World Series. Unfortunately for her, the person she was propositioning turned out to be an undercover cop.
Finkelstein, a grad student at the Ivy League University of Pennsylvania, posted an ad on Craigslist that describes herself as a “gorgeous, tall, buxom blonde, diehard Phillies fan” who needed tickets. Later in the ad she said “I’m the creative type! Maybe we can help each other!” And you know what that means.
According to published reports, the undercover officer who arrested her said that she was “willing to round the bases backwards” to get the precious tickets. I’m not entirely sure what that means, but I can guess.
But not to fear – this story has a happy ending (no pun intended, heh). Finkelstein scored a pair of tickets to a weekend game in Philadelphia, courtesy of a radio station and car dealer.
