Think having an erection for over a week would be fun? Try asking the Peruvian farmer who recently underwent an operation after complaining of pain from an eight-day erection.
According to a doctor at a hospital in the northern Peru city of Sullana, the 53-year old man had not taken erectile dysfunction drugs or alcohol.
The patient, whose identity is mercifully being withheld, suffers from priapism which causes an erection often due to a blood clot in the erectile tissue. Surgeon Nelson Carrasco said, “We are looking for the cause of the priapism because if we don’t find a solution it could reappear again.” Youch!
