It’s hard not to admire the upper class in Britain. While the rest of the world struggles through the worldwide recession, the upper crust in the UK are staging masked balls that – surprise! – later descend into mass orgies.

Halswell House in Somerest, England was recently rented out for about $15,000 by a group of 350 partygoers. Arriving in the requisite BMWs and Aston Martins, the guests were dressed in long cloaks and masks.

All seemed normal until midnight when the revelers ditched the cloaks and stripped down to corsets and suspenders. What were you expecting – thongs? No, they are the upper crust after all – corsets wil do just fine thank you very much.

Then the revelers starting having sex all over the mansion, exactly like a famous scene from the movie Eyes Wide Shut. The 17th Century manor house’s owner, Grahame Bond, then had to send his teenage staff home and called the cops.

“The first thing we saw was one couple at it on a window sill. When the haze from the dry ice in the disco room cleared we realised it was going on everywhere,” Bond was quoted as saying. “That’s when the penny dropped that it was a swinger’s party.

Fortunately for the partygoers, the police said it was a private party and there was nothing they could do. Let the high class orgies live on!
