Dustin Britton has a special place in the annals of manly men. Last week Dustin saved his entire family from a starving mountain lion in the wilds of northwestern Wyoming using a chainsaw as a weapon.
Britton, a 32-year old mechanic from Windsor, Colorado said he was cutting firewood near his campsite when he came face to face with the lion. His wife and two toddlers were just yards away.
As the animal pounced at him, Britton raised his 18-inch chainsaw and inflicted a wound in the lion’s shoulder. The wounded animal retreated back into the forest, leaving Briton, a former Marine, with just a small puncture wound.
Wildlife agents later shot and killed the lion after tracking it. Authorities say the lion appeared to be starving. After the attack, Britton and his family decided to stay the night in their pop-up camper.
Hats off to Dustin Britton – a very manly man.

Wow did they really have kill it like that? after its been wounded.. I was expecting to read they tranquilize it and drive it to a wild life reserve of some sort. Guess no one likes mountain lions :/

Yes, they did have to kill the wounded animal. The key words are attack and animal. Once they attack humans they loose their fear and will atttack again.

its a wild animal. He went into the mountain lions territory, its not like the lion walked into their backyard it didnt deserve to be killed. Fuck, taking a chainsaw to the arm would suck enough.

well they did not have to kill it but it’s better than leaving it out there with its shoulder torn to shreds so in a way it was also the more humane thing to do
