Wondering where to take your special someone this Valentine’s Day? How about to the world’s most perfectly heart-shaped island?

The 130,000 square yard island called Galesnjak off the Croatian coast recently came to prominence when couples from around the world discovered its heart shape on Google Earth.

Even the owner of the uninhabited island – now rechristened Lovers’ Island – didn’t know how heart-shaped the island was until he was swamped with requests from lovers to stay there. Best of all, Galesnjak is a desert island with beaches ringing the entire perimeter.

So if you find yourself in Croatia this Valentine’s Day, head on over to Lovers’ Island. But be warned, this is one uninhabited desert island where you won’t be spending time alone.

If you have Google Earth installed on your computer, click here to see the heart-shaped island of Galesnjak.
