If you’ve seen Quantum of Solace, you have no doubt oogled the snazzy car James Bond drove in that movie. While 007 always seems to have the latest and greatest on four wheels, with the Aston Martin DBS, he has truly outdone himself.
For a measly $270,000 you too can be one of only 300 Americans to drive the Aston Martin DBS, a 6.0-liter V12 powered, race-bred two-seater. Of course, with 510 horsepower roaring from the engine, you’ll be glad it comes equipped with a 1,000-watt Bang & Olufsen sound system.

Need to get away from the bad guys in a hurry? No problem – the DBS goes 0 to 60 in a mere 4.2 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 191 mph. The DBS is the first production Aston Martin to make extensive use of ultra-light carbon-fibre body panels. Its high level of performance is delivered by the combination of inherent light weight, near-perfect weight distribution, a supremely powerful and flexible V12 engine, and a performance-honed six speed transmission.
But what really sets the latest Aston Martin apart is the design. The automobile somehow miraculously combines speed and luxury while still maintaining an understated elegance. This is no screaming yellow Ferrari that bellows its ostentation to the world. Like a well toned athlete in a figure-hugging suit, the bodywork of the DBS is a tight wrapping on the muscle that lies beneath, expressed in the taut lines and heavily sculpted flanks.
