A new iPhone app can help figure out just how drunk you are. Introduced by Dutch brewing company Grolsh, the “Walk the Line” app uses the iPhone’s motion-sensing accelerometer to measure your ability to walk a straight line.

As you try to walk along a line
(much like the friendly police officer will do when he pulls you over for DUI), the app tracks how much you weave back and forth and gives you a final score that shows whether or not you’re inebriated.

The app was launched at the North Sea Jazz Festival in the Netherlands. Unfortunately the app is not actually an alcohol test (”but judge, my iPhone app said I was sober”).

Here’s a video that shows how it works:

If the app shows you’re inebriated, it’s time to use your iPhone to send an drunk text message that you’ll be ashamed of the next day.
