It’s the end of a long, draining work day. You know you need to get to the gym, but you’re dragging. How do you get the energy to revive you and power through your workout?
There are two strategies to consider. The first is turning to preworkout drinks like Amino Shooter Core which combine essential amino acids and caffeine. Recent research indicates that taking amino acids before a workout can spark muscle growth and boost your stamina.
In the first moments of a workout your body begins signaling for enzymes that have only one purpose… to chew up your muscle tissue for its vital, energy rich, essential amino acids. The more muscle that is destroyed, the less growth you?ll get and the longer it will take to recover. Nearly all of the protein synthesis that occurs after training is wasted on rebuilding; little is left for new growth. In fact, this process is more damaging for some people. This can make muscle growth frustrating and difficult for everyone?even for athletes that appear to be making gains.
Drinks like Amino Shooter Core can help protect you from the negative effects of exercise-induced catabolism that occur in the first moments of your workout. These drinks provide your body with a balanced combination of free-form, essential amino acids that take only minutes to be absorbed and go to work.
The second option is a drink with carbs and protein, like Accelerade. A University of Texas study found these types of drinks have similar benefits to amino acid and caffeine cocktails.
Accelerade contains carbohydrates in combination with protein in a 4:1 ratio. That’s a ratio that research has shown is ideal. Because while protein is key, the amount of protein is what’s important. Too much, and it can’t be processed by the body. Too little, and it won’t work like it needs to.
Carb-protein drinks not only get your body ready to workout, but also increase your stamina while training hard. When carb-protein drinks were compared to a conventional sports drink in recent studies, they extended endurance up to 36 percent and up to 55 percent compared to water.
The bottom line: both options can get the job done. Try one option for a week and then the other for the next week to see which works best for you.

Great article. I?ve suffered from chronic fatigue for as long as I can remember so finding that energy to work out has always been a challenge for me. I find that having a smoothie made with low fat yogurt and strawberries sweetened with splenda, approximately two hours before I hit the gym helps keep me going for about 40 mins (treadmill). Recently I?ve also been taking rhodiola energy supplement half an hour before I start and have noticed significant increase in energy levels..(I?ve gone from walking at 3.2 to jogging at 5.1) .For anyone that?s interested I buy it from : http://thussain2.qhealthzone.com/Products/Thumbnail.aspx?ctg=17413&ast=573717&rtl=17395
