Frankly, I recommend buying on ebay and searching for a 70s black tuxedo with wide velvet lapels and flare leg pants with a velvet or satin stripe along the sides. Match them with black platform shoes with a heel of no more than 2 1/2 inches, choose any color ruffled shirt (vintage from the 70s of course), and finish off with a puffy black velvet bowtie. Now THAT my friends is the way to make "black" stand out! The problem with tuxedos today is not just because they don't offer any seletion but because they appear drab and make you look like an idiot next to your date. The point is (and I love that about the 70s) is that you can match your date in looks! I mean, why would I want her to be the only one looking pretty and stealing the show? I want some attention too, and Peacock Revolution is my religion. And DON'T just limit yourself to a black tux. No sir! Be free in your choice of colors man, you just might impress the right person! You dig?
