This Doesn't Sound Right, X Probably Doesn't Damage Your Brain?
There are some things that you don't need a scientific postgraduate degree, nor an understanding of molecular biology to figure out. Sometimes, common sense can supplant months, years, or even decades of instutional research. For instance, this study shows that ecstasy users don't suffer any more cognitive disability than non-users.
Don't sound right, do it?
Well, examine the study for a mad minute and you'll see that ecstasy-using rave goers were compared to non-ecstasy-using rave goers, which is kind of like comparing a broken clock to a weird broken clock that doesn't use drugs, but hangs out all the drug-using broken clocks anyway. Also, it was 52 X users pitted against 59 non-X users. Not exactly a global survey.
Anyway, it's a (mildly) interesting study, but probably a very misleading one. This story will likely get picked up shortly, but the fact is that this means X can still cause wildly dumb decisions, addiction traits, and depression. Don't go reaching for the glow stick just yet. Even if you don't do E, don't grab the glow sticks. They're just really obnoxious. Grow up.
