It's not safe in school zones, or anywhere else behind the wheel, so it's probably dangerous to do when you're piloting a commercial aircraft, either. Let's just say no phones in the cockpit, perhaps?

An airline pilot in Singapore forgot to put down the landing gear, forcing him to abort the landing 400 feet above the ground. He forgot because he was plaiyng with his cell phone. Nice, dude. Of course, this picture represents what ALMOST happened, if only because a pic of a plane slowly taking back off wouldn't have really done much to sell the incident. 

If he wasn't at least sexting, I'm going to be very, very, very upset about this whole situation.
