GPS is no longer just for helping drivers get around the city. Now the technology is being used to help singles connect. Location-based dating applications like Skout and Are You Interested? help you pinpoint when ‘the one’ might be right around the next corner.
Using one of these apps, you can specify what kind of relationship you’re looking for and input a few of your details. Using your phone’s internal GPS - or triangulating from nearby cell towers – the application will alert you when a potential mate is within a few hundred yards.
When that happens both you and your potential mate’s photo, first name, and age will typically pop-up on each other’s phone. If you’re interested, you can exchange private messages, set-up an in-person meeting, or just ignore the suggestion.
So if you have grown tired of filling out endless questionnaires at the typical online dating site, give one of these mobile dating applications a try. It’s like giving spontaneity a helping hand.
