This Beer Is Half As Strong As Whiskey
Miller Lite is about 4.2% alcohol by volume, which, as well know, is enough to do the trick. It may not be the thinking man's beer, but it will get you drunk if you drink enough of them. Well, there IS a new thinking man's beer out there called "Black Tuesday" by Bruery and you don't really need to drink very many of them to fall face-first on the floor. One of them will do the trick. Maybe two. Three and you're really pushing it, my friend.
So what's so special about this brew? Well, it's a stout, which is to say it's brewed with ingredients and processes similar to Guinness. Only this guy is aged in a bourbon barrel like the badass it is. I don't know the exact science behind the brewing process that makes this beer so lethal, but by the time it's bottled and distributed, this elixir is rocking a 19.5% abv. Which means a pint of this stuff is close to getting you as schnockered as five pints of your favorite light beer.
According to the sites that have been able to get their grubby little hands on this wildly in-demand beer, it's not all about power here. Boozereviews.net gave this guy a perfect 100, calling it "the best imperial stout on the planet, bar none." Click here to read the story behind the brew, as well as a fairly articulate, but brief review.
It's currently available only in 750ml bottles, which retail for $30, which isn't that bad considering this isn't meant to be drank like a pitcher during Monday Night Football, but good luck trying to pay retail. This beer has been so hyped that apparently bottles have been going for $100 on eBay. I, for one, am going to wait for that madness to settle down, but am eager to see what all the fuss is about.
