Cubicus: A Cuddly Rubik's Cube

Remember those days when you drove yourself crazy trying to solve the Rubik's Cube puzzle? Well, the latest incarnation - called Cubicus - is designed to foster creativity, not frustration. The new version allows you to expand the cube and stack its parts to create cool designs.

The flexible cube was designed back in 1968 by Peer Clahsen and is now available from Swiss toy maker Naef. Like Rubik's Cube, Cubicus is easy to play with, but tough to master.

Cubicus starts out as 4-inch wooden block which can then be expanded and re-configured into a variety of shapes and structures. This is your chance to create your very own architectural masterpiece, or just have some fun.

Cubicus is available from Nova68 for $138, which is quite a bit more than I remember the Rubik's Cube going for.
