Actually, these are great ideas! Especially the last one…my wife is big into ballet, so I may surprise her with an early xmas gift of a local Nutcracker performance or some such (can’t go wrong with Nutcracker) — only works if you live in a metro area, however. They’ve actually got a site with various Nutcracker performances listed

Otherwise, what I usually do is go through my wife’s lotion/soap closet (yes, one closet in our house is a designated lotion/soap closet) and replenish something that’s either running out or that is particularly expensive, etc. This year’s big ticket item: The Perricone Age Prevent kit, which will hopefully be less embarrassing than last year’s Ivory soap six-pack (j/k)
