Video Captures Drunk Woman Falling Onto Subway Tracks

This amazing security video captures the hair-raising saga of 27-year old Sophia Hartdegen as she drunkenly wobbles and then falls onto the subway tracks in Boston. As an oncoming train rushes in, Hartdegen rolls around the tracks unable to get up while frantic bystanders try to wave down the train conductor.

Thankfully for everyone involved, the conductor slams on the brakes at the last minute and misses running over Hartdegen by just inches. Hartdegen amazingly escaped the incident with only minor scrapes. Train operator Charice Lewis is being hailed as a hero for her quick thinking and even quicker reaction time. You’ll see why:

Man Charged with Drunk Driving After Reporting Pot Stolen

Calvin Hoover of Oregon is not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Calvin, you see, called the police early last Tuesday to complain that someone had broken into his truck and stolen his marijuana while he was inside a bar drinking.

When the police didn’t arrive – can’t imagine why – Calvin called them again. Only problem was that the dispatcher couldn’t understand what he was saying because Hooper was driving and had to pull over several time to throw up.

Since medical marijuana is legal in Oregon, so far Hoover has only been charged with driving under the influence. Of booze, that is.

She also smashed her car into a stone column while zipping away from the Philips’ Westport, Conn. home after leaving the letter.

Philips’ wife is now divorcing him and he has been suspended for a week by ESPN. So a marriage down the drain. A career in tatters. Over what? This:

The Top Ten Gas Guzzlers of 2010

Yesterday we brought you the ten most fuel efficient cars of 2010. Today we bring you the gas hogs. These bad boys don’t give a damn how much gas costs or how hot the planet may be getting from their exhaust.

The gas guzzler list is dominated by exotic high-end sportscars from Italy, the U.K., and Germany. Familiar names like Lamborghini, Bugatti, Bentley, Ferrari, and Mercedes all make the list.

Topping the list is the Lamborghini Murcielago with manual transmission which gets a mind-bogglingly puny 8 mpg in city driving. The Murcielago boasts a 631-horsepower V12 engine and zooms from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.4 seconds. Yipes! Oh, and the Murcielago will set you back a cool $400,000. I guess you’re not too worried about gas mileage at that price.

With gas prices still burning a hole in your pocket every time you fill up your tank, it’s more important than ever to think about gas mileage when you’re out there shopping for a new car. Thankfully, there are more fuel efficient autos on the roads than ever before.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recently released its top 10 most efficient car models for 2010. While most are hybrids, not all of them are manufactured by Japanese carmakers:

Six Costumes You Must Avoid This Halloween

Halloween is just around the corner so it’s time to start thinking hard about your costume. But please – just because you can dress any way you like on the 31st doesn’t mean you should.

There are plenty of quite acceptable Halloween costumes you can consider, but here are six to absolutely, positively stay away from:

6. Spock

Please, if you’re fat, do the rest of the world a favor and don’t dress up like Spock. In fact, just don’t up like Spock period.

5. Anything from Cheech & Chong

Sure, there are lots of potheads out there and for those folks Cheech & Chong are godlike. For the rest of us, they are just lame.

4. Umpa Lumpa

Why would anyone want to dress up like an Umpa Lumpa from Willy Wonka? This just screams “I have given up on life. You may hit me now.”

3. Yo Gabba Gabba!

Your kids may love Yo Gabba Gabba! (it’s a kids show on cable, if you don’t know). But that does not give you the excuse to go anywhere near this costume. If you want to be laughed at and have chicks run from you, this would be the perfect selection.

2. M&Ms

Funny? No. Sexy? Definitely no. Weak? Hell yes!

1. The Rod Blagojevich wig.

Remember Rod Blagojevich? He’s the former Illinois governor who was kicked out for selling Obama’s old senate seat to the highest bidder. This year there are lots of companies selling Rod Blagojevich wigs for Halloween. You aren’t going to look good in this and you won’t be nearly as funny as you think. You’ll just be lame.

Here Comes the Blackberry Smartwatch

In case you don’t already feel connected enough to your BlackBerry, a new smartwatch that incorporates the device will be available soon. Yes, now you can have your crackberry physically connected to your body at all times. Imagine that.

The Blackberry watch – code name “in pulse” – is still in concept mode, but it’s expected to have a large OLED screen to clearly display text. It’s designed to display messages from a paired BlackBerry device.

No word yet on how much the BlackBerry watch will cost or when it will be available, but an announcement is expected soon.

Wii Gets Custom-Made Machine Gun Controller

As if the Wii wasn’t cool enough, there is now a custom-made controller available that is a full-scale replica of a Heckler and Koch MP5 sub-machine gun. Yes, it’s fun for the entire family.

The gun has a rechargeable battery and a built-in speaker that rumbles when you get hit in a shoot-em up game.

This controller was spotted at a trade show in Hong Kong, so it’s unclear whether it will ever get to the U.S. market.

The manufacturer supposedly placed the orange cap on the muzzle to make it look less realistic. However, that probably won’t stop the neighbors from calling the police if they see you wielding it in your home.

And in case you haven’t heard, Nintendo recently dropped the price of the Wii to $199. You can pick one up at Amazon with free shipping.

Your iPhone Can Now Start You Car

As soon as you think there’s a limit to what people can use the iPhone for, someone comes up with a new wacky application. The latest is the Viper StartSmart system which can be used to lock and unlock your car, all from the comfort of your iPhone.

You no longer have to go fishing in your pocket to find your keys. In fact, you don’t need to bring your keys along at all. In addition to locking and unlocking your car, the app can remotely start the ignition, release the trunk, and start the panic alarm in the case of an emergency.

Of course, all this cool functionality doesn’t come cheap. The app is free. But you’ll need to install the Viper StartSmart hardware in your car which will set you back $499. Then you’ll also need to pay $29.99 a year for service. Pretty cool idea, though.

Chessboxing: Yes, It’s Exactly What You Think It Is

The latest craze to hit London is chessboxing, a battle of both brains and brawn. Rounds of chess are alternated with rounds of boxing. You win by either knocking out your opponent in the ring or checkmating him on the chessboard.

The first chessboxing European heavyweight championship final was recently held in London and pitted Andy “The Rock” Costello, a former cage fighter, against Gianluca “Il Dottore” Sirci. While The Rock did better in the boxing rounds, Il Dottore won the match on the chessboard, checkmating his opponent in the ninth round.

Chessboxing has – amazingly -been around since 2003 when it was created by a Dutch artists who was inspired by a Serbian comic. The Chess Boxing Organization was established in 2008.

Bullets Shooting into Stuff: Very Cool

What’s more fun than shooting at stuff? Shooting at stuff and filming it in super-duper slow mo. This amazing video, made by Werner Mehl from Kurzzeit, shows bullets impacting various objects. It’s filmed at 1 million frames per second, which provides eye-popping detail. Sometimes the bullets go through the objects, but other times the bullets disintegrate as they strike a harder metal. It’s a bit on the long side, but totally mesmerizing:

Speeders Rejoice: The Red Light Camera Detector is Here

Isn’t it a drag getting dinged by the police every time you run a red light? I mean, what’s a speed demon to do? Finally we now have the Red Light Camera Detector, a device that tells you when you approach an intersection monitored by a red light camera.

Now, we’re not suggesting you go around running red lights. That’s just dumb, not to mention incredibly unsafe. But if you really can’t help yourself, then this is a handy device to own.

The detector maintains a database of 6,000 red light and speed camera locations in the U.S. and Canada. The built-in GPS compares your car’s bearings with these locations and gives you a warning before you get a ticket.

The red light camera database is updated monthly. The device includes a year of updates and then costs $19.95 annual after that. Certainly cheaper than getting a ticket.

Cross Dressing Cage Fighters Beat Down Punks

A couple of drunken thugs in the British town of Swansea got the surprise beat down of their lives when they attacked what they thought were a group of transsexuals.

What the punks didn’t know was that they were attacking Daniel “Lion Heart” Lerwell and James “Lights Out” Lilley, two experienced cage fighters who just happened to be out on the town dressed as women (didn’t you know that’s what cage fighters do on their nights off?).

CCTV footage of the brief fight has become a YouTube sensation. Cameras show Lilley taking out both attackers with a pair of lightening-quick punches. Lilley then demurely picks up his handbag and continues on his way.

Are You Ready for Mantyhose?

What’s the latest trend in men’s fashion over in London? Leggings for guys, jokingly referred to as “mantyhose.” The fashion brand Unconditional recently launched a whole clothing line that revels in androgyny.

Unconditional’s designer Philip Stephens says his mens leggings can be worn as a statement or under clothes to provide warmth. Stephens likens the mantyhose to mosh pits and the Seattle grunge scene.

While it’s true Kurt Cobain used to wear leggings under a nightie, something tells me he wouldn’t have done so if they were called mantyhose.

Flirting with Hot Chicks is Good for Your Health

Flirting with an attractive woman is not only fun, it’s also good for your health. That’s the finding of a new study that measured the hormonal impact of flirting on men.

Researchers at the University of California studied 149 male students between 18 and 24 years old. A third of the group talked to a make researcher while the others interacted with coeds aged 18 to 22. The psychologists then took a saliva sample from the men to measure hormone levels.

The scientists discovered that a mere five minute talk with a hottie boosted testosterone levels by 14 percent and cortisol – an anti-stress hormone – by a whopping 48 percent. Both testosterone and cortisol are associated with alertness and well being.

In contrast, the guys who spent time with the male researcher showed drops in both hormones.

Researchers have long known about a similar effect in animals, called the ?mating response?. The University of California scientists carried out their study to see of humans experienced the same hormonal boost.

Other studies have shown that married men or those in long-term relationships have lower testosterone levels than those still searching for a mate. Scientists believe that when men find women attractive, their brains send signals to the pituitary gland, boosting production of testosterone.

So you might just be better off chatting with your hot women friends than hanging out at the bar with your buddies.

After burning a few calories you expel a cathartic whinny as if to knowingly ask, ?who?s your stallion?? She knows.

Your superseed swims upstream. Destination: Baby-maker.

Upon dismount she winks at you. Maybe she wants to stay and cuddle. After all, your hay is the finest in the world — light, fluffy, never dry. It?s more like a cloud — a cloud you want for yourself.

Your Barnpimp takes her away, his eyes never meeting yours, respecting your refractory period.

The mare leaves with a toothy grin, thankful for your sexual donation. That?s the last you?ll ever see of her. She doesn?t even want you to add her on Facebook. You?ll never tire of this.

After a nap, Mister Wembley, your wealthy owner (who you just made wealthier) stops by with good news. He?s just heard that, ?Windy Summer Breeze,? one of your many children has qualified for the Kentucky Derby.

While you wish your son didn?t have such a stupid name, you?re thankful it?s not your problem. Wembley pats you on the back. Your sexload is now worth another $2,500. The two of you would fist-bump if it was anatomically possible.

A rapping is heard at your freshly lacquered stall door.

?It looks like your four-fifteen is here,? says a grinning Wembley.

As you neigh agreement, through a bay window, you spot a dark, hairy figure hiding in a tree. It?s renowned pornstar Ron Jeremy. He?s blotting his tears with a leaf.
