
Almost lost in the circus surrounding Michael Jackson’s death is the fact that 70s icon Farrah Fawcett died earlier yesterday. If you were a male teenager in the late 1970s, chances are you had a swimsuit poster of Farrah Fawcett on your wall.
Farrah came to superstardom from her role in television’s campy “Charlie’s Angels” but went on to do serious, if little, noticed movies.
In her heyday, Farrah was the epitome of the feathery maned California girl. From her brilliantly gleaming white teeth to her toned, tanned body, Fawcett inspired a generation of teenage lust. When she posed for Playboy in 1995 – at age 50 – it became that magazine’s highest selling issue of the decade.
